About Noillirk

Who makes this edition of Noillirk, and why.

Why we built it

We fell for Noillirk the first time we played it: a game where the best answer is the most ordinary one is a lovely idea, and it is surprisingly hard. When we went looking for places to play, we kept finding long pages of text with the game pushed somewhere below. So we built the version we wanted: open the page and you are already playing.

What is ours

This is an independent, fan-made edition inspired by the original Noillirk by Daily. Everything here was made for this site: the bank of prompts and their answer boards, the matching rules that forgive typos and plurals, the scoring, the three-guess rule, the crowd counts on the Daily results screen, and Kril, the krill who rides the balloons. We are not affiliated with Daily, and if you enjoy this, the original is worth playing too.

How the boards are made

Each prompt's board lists the answers people most often give to that kind of question, ranked by our editors. It is our best estimate of the crowd rather than a scientific poll. If you think an answer is missing or ranked oddly, tell us: that kind of note is how the boards get better.

Privacy, briefly

You never need an account. Your streak lives in your browser, and Daily results are kept only as anonymous counts. The privacy policy has the details.
